Mavrovo is located in a national park of the same name in western Macedonia and is a popular leisure area for tourists and locals alike in summer and in winter. In recent winter seasons, it has been increasingly difficult to guarantee snow on the slopes in lower altitudes. However, the new system will allow the ski resort to play a pioneering role, because it is the first snowmaking project on this scale in the region.
The custom-made solution includes the construction of a new pump station and a cooling system for reaching the ideal water temperature for making snow. 19 pits, including infrastructure and 9 new Titan 3.0, Evo 3.0 and EOS snow guns are to be set up. The new snowmaking system is to be operated using the Demaclenko control software Snowvisual 4.0, which offers efficient management of resources while providing detailed analyses for optimal snow production.
