In a video posted yesterday Copper Mountain in Colorado, US, said that work on its two new lifts is nearing completion.

Gondola cabins and chairs are now attached to the cable of the American Eagle, a high-speed lift that includes both 6-person chairs and 8-person gondola cabins, and safety tests are being carried out.

In the case of the American Flyer, the resort said that crew were currently splicing the cable. Both chairlifts are being constructed by Leitner-Poma and will operate on Direct Drive systems, increasing the resort’s uphill capacity by 40%.

Copper Mountain opened on 16 November but has yet to confirm opening dates for either chairlift.
