A new gondola has opened to the public at the SilverStar Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada.
Built by Doppelmayr Canada, the gondola’s 21 cabins can carry up to 8 people each and feature ski and board racks. The gondolas will carry visitors from the resort village to the mountain’s summit, covering a horizontal distance of 1063 m, in approximately four and a half minutes.
The resort anticipates increasing capacity to 43 cabins in the future.
The new system replaces the fixed grip Summit chair that was installed in 1970.
