Last week the first of two sand lines was pulled into place as part of preparations for installing the haul rope, to which a total of 64 chairs will be attached and detached. The resort been receiving the chairs – each equipped with a weather-proof bubble and weighing over a tonne – over the past few weeks.
Once the haul rope is spliced it will need to be de-rigged and then tensioned before it is ready.
Big Sky Mountain is running a livestream of the project, which can be viewed here. When complete, Ramcharger 8 will be North America's first eight-person chairlift.
