Gondola cabins collide at Hochzillertal

As reported by Euronews, five gondola cabins collided on the Wimbachexpress gondola lift at the Hochzillertal ski area in Austria on Sunday morning. Nobody was injured.

The incident is believed to have been caused by high winds, which had led to the closure of the lift system to the public prior to the collision. At least one of the cabins seems to have become stuck, following which four other cabins collided against it.

The Wimbachexpress, a 10-passenger lift constructed by LEITNER ropeways, opened earlier this year.
