The American Eagle, a high-speed lift that includes both 6-person chairs and 8-person gondola cabins, was due to open on 1 December. However technical problems with backup power systems meant that Leitner-Poma of America, the manufacturer, and the resort decided to postpone opening.
With the American Eagle now open, Leitner-Poma’s focus has switched to the American Flyer, Copper Mountain’s other new lift. The resort has not yet confirmed an opening date for the 6-person detachable chairlift.
