Gore Mountain ski resort in New York, US, is making a number of improvements to its snowmaking and snow grooming systems in preparation for the 2018 – 2019 season.

A new pump house is being constructed and new pipe installed to increase water pumping capacity by 42%, meaning the resort will be opening more trails earlier in the season and expanding terrain faster than before.

312 brand-new automated snow guns equipped with the latest snowmaking technologies are being installed on key trails. The guns can be controlled remotely or manually, and respond to real-time weather changes to optimise output.

Gore Mountain has also added two snowcats to its snow grooming fleet.
