MND Group announces two new partnerships in China

The first is a strategic cooperation agreement with the public group Hebei Tourism Investment Group which owns several ski resorts. MND and Hebei Tourism Investment are committed to a long-term partnership to jointly study the realisation of its future lifts, snowmaking and outdoor recreation projects.

Hebei Tourism Investment owns two ski resorts amongst a number of assets, and the development of winter sports and outdoor recreation is one of the group's priorities.

The second contract is a partnership agreement with the ski resort of Wanlong in Hebei for the creation of a training and testing centre for snow guns, the first of its kind in China. The centre will host teams and customers in China for product testing sessions and training in snowmaking technology manufactured by MND Group.

Over the last two years, MND has built the largest automated snow production facility in China, with over 350 snow guns, at Wanlong.

Xavier Gallot-Lavallée, Chairman and CEO of MND Group, said: "We are very honoured to have welcomed in France Messrs ZHU Haowen, LI Pu and the decision-makers who accompany them, for the visit of our production site and our global R&D centre. Our group is very active in China, where we have several major projects underway. China is a country that has a very strong development potential with the major event, in 3 years, of the next Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in 2022. This visit was an opportunity for our group to show its know-how and its expertise in the development of ski resorts and tourist sites.”

MND Group generates 73% of its turnover in exports and China is one of its largest markets. In 2015, MND Group created its Chinese subsidiary in partnership with the Chinese industrial group CCZMM. Based in Zhangjiakhou, Hebei Province, it has about 40 employees. The Chinese subsidiary is primarily responsible for assembling and installing equipment for the local market. For each MND Group facility in China, 70% of equipment is produced in its French sites and 30% in China.
