Bartholet Seilbahnen has announced that final construction works are taking place on the new 10-passenger gondola lift in Narvik, Norway.

The system, commissioned early last year, is the Swiss company’s first attempt at a 10-passenger gondola lift, and replaces an existing ropeway. Up to 1600 passengers an hour will be able to take the lift up to a viewing platform on Narvikfjellet, which is 656 m above sea level.

Bartholet has said that it intends to expand capacity to 2400 passengers an hour in the future, as well as construct another ropeway from the centre of Narvik to the valley station of the gondola lift under construction.
